1. Introduction

JobAthlete (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a Chrome extension and web application that helps job seekers prepare resumes and recruiter emails for job listings. This page explains what we collect and how we use it when you use https://www.jobathlete.com and the JobAthlete browser extension. Questions? Email support@jobathlete.com.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: your name, email address and sign-in details when you register with Google.
  • Resume and career details: the resume and career information you provide the GitHub and portfolio links you add, and any instructions you give us.
  • Job listing information: information from job listings you choose to use with the extension, including text or screenshots of that listing and any recruiter email address shown in it.
  • Application records: the content and details of the applications you create, and the dates of your follow-up reminders, so you can review them later.
  • Usage information: basic usage counts, used to apply plan limits and fix problems.
  • Payments and upgrades: paid plans are handled by email. When you ask to upgrade, we send payment instructions. After you pay, you send us confirmation, and we verify it and upgrade your account. We keep your email address, your chosen plan and the confirmation you send. We never ask for your full card number, bank login or passwords, so please don’t send them.
  • Website analytics: if you accept analytics cookies, we collect general information about how the site is used.

3. AI Processing and Service Providers

We use third-party services to process your content with AI and to host our systems and store files. When you request a generation, the content you provide (such as your resume text, the job listing you chose and your instructions) is sent to our AI service provider to produce the result. Screenshots are processed in memory over an encrypted connection to read the role requirements and recruiter details, and are not permanently stored. We don’t use your resume or career documents to train our own AI models. Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. AI can make mistakes, so please check everything before you send it.

4. Google Sign-In and Gmail

JobAthlete connects to Google so you can sign in and send application emails from your own Gmail account.

Permissions we request:

  • userinfo.email (your Google account email, for sign-in)
  • userinfo.profile (your basic profile name, for display)
  • gmail.send (send an email on your behalf)

Sending: when you review an application and choose Send Now, the email goes out from your own Gmail account. You can edit the message before sending. Nothing is sent automatically.

Follow-up reminders: JobAthlete sends you a reminder after 5 days. The follow-up is sent only if you review it and choose to send it.

What we don’t do: we don’t request permission to read or change your mailbox, so JobAthlete does not read, scan or delete your emails.

What we store: the authorization needed to send emails you approve, and the details of emails you create.

Stopping access: you can disconnect Gmail in the app or remove JobAthlete’s access at any time in your Google Account permissions.

JobAthlete’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Keeping and Deleting Your Data

We keep your account data and application records while your account is active. You can delete your account and data in the extension settings, or email support@jobathlete.com. Deleting your account removes your resumes, application records, reminders and stored Gmail authorization. Payment confirmations and related emails may be kept for a reasonable period for our records and to resolve disputes. Uninstalling the extension clears data stored in your browser.

6. Cookies and Ads

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. Analytics cookies are used only if you accept them. We don’t sell your personal data.

7. Your Choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing support@jobathlete.com.
